Battle of the Brains is one of our most exciting opportunities for students to think creatively, explore science and design, and work together on a real world challenge. Our team researches, sketches, builds, and develops an exhibit idea that reflects their curiosity and problem solving skills. Many students visited Science City for the first time and had a chance to explore STEAM concepts in a hands on setting. This project gave them a rewarding PBL experience and a real opportunity to collaborate in a scholarly way, which is something they do not often get to do in our school. They worked hard, had fun, and finished the project asking for more opportunities just like this.

A look at our Battle of the Brains team exploring Science City through a scholarship-funded field trip awarded to our school. For many students, this was their first visit to a STEAM museum, and the experience sparked authentic curiosity, teamwork, and problem solving that strengthened our project.

After sketching ideas, testing concepts, revising designs, and collaborating all the way to our final project submission, this project fostered creativity, teamwork, and persistence that defined our experience.
