Our book clubs give students a relaxed and welcoming way to connect with stories and with each other. These groups meet to talk, laugh, and explore books they choose together. We keep the focus on choice, community, and conversations that help students enjoy reading.
Our reading challenges help students discover new genres, explore nonfiction, and build confidence as readers. One of our favorites was the DIY Reading Challenge. Students checked out a how-to or craft book from the library and created something directly from the instructions. This blended reading with creativity and gave students a fun way to use our nonfiction collection.
Throughout the year, we host special events that highlight reading and bring our school community together. These activities build excitement around books and help students see reading as something that is social and enjoyable.
